Arvid Lindblad offers an apology following altercation with Racing Bulls teammate in Baku.
Racing Bulls Formula 1 newcomer Arvid Lindblad has publicly apologized to his teammate Liam Lawson following their incident during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The British driver earned six points with a seventh-place result at the Baku City Circuit, but the race was overshadowed by his collision with Lawson.
During a safety car restart after Alex Albon from Williams crashed, Lindblad braked later than both his teammate and Haas' Esteban Ocon, who were ahead of him. He found himself squeezed between the two vehicles, resulting in contact with Lawson.
Lawson was spun around and ultimately finished outside the points in 12th place. The stewards reviewed the incident and concluded that no further action was required due to "the limited space available to [Lindblad]."
After the race, Lindblad took to social media to accept responsibility for the incident while also commending the team's power unit performance.
"Strong race today, really pleased to bring it home in P7," he shared on his Instagram story. "It’s been a tough week, and I’m frustrated with how I handled some aspects of it.

In an interview with Sky Sports F1 right after the race, Lawson mentioned that the collision caused a hole in his floor. "I need to review it, but as we were all approaching Turn 1 on the restart, I just got hit from my left, resulting in a hole in my floor," he explained.
"So I'm not really sure what gap he was aiming for. In the middle of both of us going into Turn 1, I really don’t understand it."
