Arvid Lindblad commended for his "classy" reaction following the incident with Liam Lawson at the Azerbaijan GP.

Racing Bulls newcomer Arvid Lindblad has garnered widespread appreciation from Formula 1 supporters following his public apology to team-mate Liam Lawson in the media pen after their incident during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The team was aiming for a solid double-points finish in Baku when a late safety car restart led to chaos in the midfield. As they approached Turn 1, Lindblad locked his brakes, colliding with the left side of Lawson's vehicle.

The collision resulted in damage to Lawson's floor. "Man, I love being taken out by my team-mate. That's pretty sick," the New Zealander remarked over the team radio at that moment.

While Lindblad managed to finish seventh and secure six points, Lawson ended up 12th.

The Briton was later spotted apologizing to Lawson in the media pen.

"Liam's inner dialogue: I'm doing media right now, don’t lose it at this bs explanation... don’t lose it... and... drink... OK... swallow the anger," one fan observed on Reddit, while another added: "Smart move doing it in the media pen where Lawson can't explode at him. Clever guy."

Others commended the interaction, labeling it as a "classy" gesture. "It looked incredibly awkward, but I’m glad Lindblad took responsibility. You can tell Lawson is still pretty angry," one user commented, while another remarked: "Clearly it was his fault, though it was somewhat unfortunate. Class act from both."

Another fan shared: "Well, it seemed pretty sincere regardless. Whether it was the right moment or not, it’s likely the first time they’ve crossed paths since the incident."

Currently, Lawson is positioned ninth in the drivers' standings with 59 points, while Lindblad sits in 11th with 37 points. Racing Bulls ranks fifth in the constructors' championship with 83 points, 15 points ahead of Alpine in sixth.
