Nohim Chibani made his official debut with Union Saint-Gilloise. The Algerian defender contributed to the Belgian club's European success against Viktoria Plzeň.

Nohim Chibani officially debuted with Union Saint-Gilloise. The 22-year-old Franco-Algerian central defender was introduced onto the pitch on Thursday night during the 3-0 victory against Viktoria Plzeň in the opening match of the Europa League. He replaced Ondrej Kricfalusi in the 75th minute.

In his first official minutes with his new club, Chibani participated in the last fifteen minutes of a match already well-controlled by the Belgian side. This appearance is significant for the player, who had been forced to take a break at the end of August due to an injury and had to wait to experience competitive play.

Arriving on a free transfer this summer after a season at Aubagne in the National, the defender signed until June 2030 with Union Saint-Gilloise. Partially trained at Grenoble, the right-footed player stands at 1.89 m and participated in 19 league matches last season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

This appearance marks the true beginning of his journey in Belgium. As a young Franco-Algerian, Chibani will look to take advantage of the coming weeks to gradually earn more playing time within a team engaged on multiple fronts.
