The Burkinabé Ligue 1 begins a new chapter on Friday, September 18, 2026, with the launch of the 2026-2027 season. The participating teams return to the pitch with renewed ambitions in a league where the battle for the title, top positions, and survival is already shaping up to be fierce.
For this opening day, eight matches are scheduled between Friday and Sunday, all at 15:30. AS SONABEL will kick off the action on Friday at the CNT/FBF. On Saturday, ASFA-Y will face USCO, AS Maaya will host USFA, Focus Sport will clash with AS Douanes, and Sporting FC will take on CFFEB. On Sunday, Salitas FC will challenge ASFB, RCK will take on Vitesse FC, and Rahimo FC will welcome Real du Faso at the Wobi Stadium in Bobo-Dioulasso.
This new season will also be marked by a significant increase in allocated funds. During the General Assembly of the Burkinabé Football Federation held last week, the championship bonuses were doubled. The next Ligue 1 champion will receive 25 million FCFA, up from 12.5 million previously, representing a 100% increase. The financial support provided to clubs has also been enhanced. This adds an extra incentive to a season that promises to be particularly competitive.
