It is now official. Mohamed Ali Zoma is included in Roberto Mancini's squad for the upcoming matches of the Italian national team in the Nations League. The 22-year-old winger, originally from Merate and playing for FC Nuremberg, receives his first call-up with the Azzurri.
Of Burkinabé descent through his father and Ivorian descent through his mother, Zoma was being monitored by three national teams. His call-up with Italy confirms his decision to represent the country where he was born and where he began his football career.
"Being born in Italy and having also started my football career here, a childhood dream is coming true for me today. It is a great honor to represent Italy as an international, and I am very grateful for this opportunity," the player stated.
