The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the hosting of two major events in Nigeria. The most populous country on the continent is set to become the heart of African football at the end of 2026, welcoming both governing bodies and the continent's football stars.
The highlight of this programming will be the CAF Awards 2026 ceremony, scheduled for Monday, December 7, in Lagos. The Nigerian metropolis will host this grand celebration that annually highlights the best figures in African football, from players to coaches, as well as the most successful national teams of the season.
Before this gala evening, Nigeria will also host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly, set for Saturday, November 21, 2026. This summit will bring together all the presidents of the member federations to discuss financial reports, strategic directions, and crucial issues for the development of the sport on the continent.
