The only representative of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on the African stage now has a clearly defined future. Following the draw for the CAF Confederation Cup, AS Maniema Union has been placed in Group C, where they will have to fight intensely to secure their ticket to the next rounds.
To hope to advance from this particularly tough group, the Congolese team will face formidable opponents. This group includes the winner of the match between CR Belouizdad (Algeria) and AS Douanes (Mauritania), Zambia's Red Arrows, as well as the surprising Tanzanian team Singida Black Stars.
This group will also mark significant reunions with former members of Maniema Union, coach Papy Kimoto and James Mboma Kinda, who now lead the Tanzanian team. It's a captivating and demanding challenge that will require the commitment of all Congolese people to support the Unionists towards qualification.
