This Thursday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport begins the hearing regarding the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. During a press conference, the Director of the Registry of the institution detailed the context and provided clarifications on the timeline for the final decision.

Senegal and Morocco are waiting. The champion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will soon be revealed. After several twists and turns, marked by decisions from the disciplinary and appeals bodies of CAF, Africa will discover its new champion in Lausanne. The hearing starts today.

“The hearing has begun with representatives from all parties, including Senegal, Morocco, and CAF. Each party is assisted by lawyers. We have a fairly rigorous schedule, established with the consent of the concerned parties. The hearing day should extend until 3 PM, 3:30 PM, or 4 PM. I don’t think we will go beyond 4 PM,” said Matthieu Reeb, according to comments reported by RMC Sport.

The parties will defend their arguments. The court will rule and issue its decision. However, this decision is not expected to be revealed for several days.

“I don’t think it will be today or tomorrow. I am almost certain of that. However, for what comes next, we might have to wait until this afternoon to get further news from the court, which may allow me to provide you with more details. But this could take a few days, or even a few weeks, if the arbitrators wish to draft a complete decision with legal justifications,” he added in front of journalists.
