As part of a crucial evaluation mission in preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, Kenyan President William Ruto welcomed CAF President Patrice Motsepe at the State House in Nairobi. This high-level meeting aimed to assess the progress of infrastructure and the host country's action plan to organize this major African football event.
Following site visits, the Confederation of African Football expressed satisfaction with the notable progress observed at the Talanta Sports City Stadium construction site, as well as the ongoing modernization of the Kasarani Stadium. The continental organization praised the commitment and willingness of the Kenyan authorities to provide facilities that meet international standards within the set deadlines.
Confident in the commitment of the regional heads of state, Patrice Motsepe reaffirmed his full trust in the trio composed of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. CAF expressed its belief that this unprecedented co-hosting in East Africa will be a resounding success and mark a historic milestone for the development of football in this sub-region.
