As the kickoff approaches for the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations against Ivory Coast and Gambia, Carlos Queiroz, the head coach of Ghana's Black Stars, has urged his players to maintain total vigilance.
Already missing Mohammed Kudus and Prince Adu Kwabena for these opening matches in Group C, the Ghanaians are looking to redeem themselves after their absence from the 2025 edition. The 73-year-old Portuguese coach aims to approach these crucial matches, as well as the friendly against Morocco, with a dual objective.
“Hands on the present, eyes on the future. The priority is very clear. We must fully concentrate on qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations, while keeping the 2030 World Cup in sight. We have an immediate goal that requires all our attention, but also a more ambitious destination ahead of us. It’s time to start building the team for 2030, a team truly capable of honoring Ghana's exceptional legacy in the World Cup.”
