CAN 2027 Qualifiers / Guinea: Aboubacar Keïta selected for the first time with the Syli National

Trained in the United States, Aboubacar Keïta began his professional career in Major League Soccer (MLS), notably playing for Columbus Crew, with whom he won the championship in 2020.

After stints with the Colorado Rapids and St. Louis CITY, the 26-year-old defender crossed the Atlantic to join Kalmar FF in Sweden. Arriving in the Swedish league to revive his career, the New Yorker quickly showcased his physical strength and positional intelligence.

Strong in duels and effective on set pieces, he quickly established himself as a key player in defense, scoring 2 goals in just 8 appearances this season. This consistency in high-level European football has now opened the doors for him to the Guinean national team.

Honored by his first call-up with Syli National, Aboubacar Keïta is ready to take a new step on the international stage and bring his high-level experience to the national defense.
