Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the ANP, paid tribute on Saturday to athlete Djamel Sedjati for winning the gold medal at the Ultimate Championship 2026 in Budapest on September 13. The athlete is a member of the ANP and holds the rank of sergeant major. During the ceremony held in his honor, he was dressed in his military uniform.
Saïd Chanegriha, who also serves as the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, conveyed to Djamel Sedjati the congratulations of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for this "historic result, which once again confirms the superiority of Algerian sports in this discipline," the Ministry of Defense stated in a press release.

The Chief of Staff of the ANP encouraged athlete Djamel Sedjati to intensify his efforts to secure top positions in upcoming competitions and to proudly represent the national colors at various international sporting events,” the same source added.

Speaking, Djamel Sedjati, who received a check for 4.2 million dinars, expressed his "pride and gratitude for the support he received personally from the High Command of the National People's Army, as well as for military sports as a whole, support that played a significant role in achieving this remarkable feat, while reaffirming his determination to continue working with seriousness and perseverance to achieve new successes in the future."
