Al Ahly suffered a defeat in their opening match of the global tournament against Hungarian team Veszprém, which features Egyptian players Ahmed Adel, Ali Zain, Yahya El-Deraa, and Ahmed Hisham Dodo, under the guidance of Spanish coach of the Egyptian national team, Pasqual, with a score of 31-23 on Friday.
The men's handball team of Zamalek qualified for the main group stage after defeating Los Angeles from the USA 40-17 in the preliminary round, and then secured another victory against Forum Darb Sultan with a score of 42-17.
This edition records the largest participation in the history of the World Handball Championship, featuring 10 clubs representing various continents.
