Iconic Formula 1 vehicles are speeding through the Port of Nice, and the clips circulating on Instagram provide the clearest insight into how Bradley Cooper's Ocean's prequel aims to bring motorsport back to the big screen. As evident, the bustling harbor has been converted into a European road circuit reminiscent of the early 1960s. If you needed confirmation that this film is taking its racing elements seriously, here it is.

What the cameras captured along the waterfront

The footage opens with a Nissan GT-R camera car equipped with a crane, positioned ahead of several classic open-wheel racers that parallel the waterfront. Temporary production setups and safety barriers line both edges of the track. Leading the pack is a dark red vehicle adorned with a white stripe, closely followed by a car resembling a Brabham F1 model.

As the group accelerates, the camera sweeps right across the harbor scenery. The port authority building, marked with "Service Plaisance Yachting," stands alongside film trailers and crew setups. The barriers guiding the vehicles through the area and the cars themselves sport nostalgic branding from companies like Martini, BP, and Shell.

The highlight arrives at the hairpin turn. The cars navigate a narrow corner flanked by hay bales right at the water's edge, with the red car being overtaken as the blue car inches closer to its rear.

This project, an unnamed prequel to, centers on the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix and portrays Danny Ocean's parents involved in a heist during the race weekend. Bradley Cooper has taken on writing, directing, and acting roles following Lee Isaac Chung's exit in March 2026 due to creative differences. The filming locations include Paris, Monaco, and Nice.

The premiere is slated for 25 June 2027.

Margot Robbie, who is both starring in and producing the film, remarked: "Before Danny Ocean ever set foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows: his parents."

The cast is believed to include Wagner Moura, Monica Barbaro, Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, and Omar Sy.
