Delloum: “This is Mouloudia.. and Bayezid's goal summarizes everything”

Kareem Delloum, assistant coach of Mouloudia Algiers, praised the team's cohesion after their 3-0 victory over Nigeria's Enugu Rangers last Friday in the second leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

This win allowed "the Doyen" to compensate for their 2-0 loss in the first leg and secure qualification for the group stage of the Champions League.

After the match, Delloum stated: “Despite some shortcomings, we managed to win, and the substitutes made a strong impact, and the third goal scored by Bayezid reflects everything.”

He added: “The team is living with a positive spirit and has great ambitions to achieve, and there are no easy matches.. As you saw, the Nigerian team may seem weak or average to some, but you witnessed their capabilities and style of play; we have been following them for two months, and they have a strong lineup.”

Delloum continued: “It was not by chance that we faced difficulties in passing this round; as you saw in the results, there are big clubs that could not reach the group stage, like Sundowns.”

He added: “There are no easy matches anymore, and everyone must realize that we need to work, prepare, and respect our opponents.. It is true that we are Mouloudia Algiers, but we must prove that on the pitch.”

Delloum concluded: “After this victory, the psychological state will be good, especially with our fans who were angry with us and there were criticisms throughout the week, but when we step onto the pitch, we feel their support for 90 minutes, pushing us forward… Even after missing the penalty, we did not doubt our abilities, and this is Mouloudia.”
