Doriane Pin imparts impactful guidance to young girls aspiring to enter the world of motorsport.

Doriane Pin, a development driver for Mercedes Formula 1 and the 2025 F1 Academy champion, has encouraged young girls aspiring to enter the motorsport industry to "dare to believe" in their goals.
Pin started karting at nine and entered national competitions at 12 in 2016. Over her three-year stint in karting, she achieved finishes of 10th and fifth in the junior category in her first two years, culminating in a victory in the female division in 2019.
Following that success, she participated in the Renault Clio Cup in 2020, the GT3 segment of the Le Mans Cup in 2021, the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship in 2023, the Formula 4 UAE Championship in 2024, and both the F1 Academy in 2024 and 2025. The French racer also undertook a one-day test with Formula 3 at Magny-Cours in November 2021.
After clinching the F1 Academy title in 2025, Pin was elevated to a development driver role with the Mercedes F1 team, becoming the first female to pilot a Mercedes F1 car when she drove the W12 at Silverstone in 2026.
Alongside her duties with the Brackley team, she competes in the Le Mans Prototype 2 Pro-Am class in the European Le Mans Series with Duqueine and also serves as a development driver for Peugeot in the World Endurance Championship and Citroën in Formula E.
In a Mercedes In Convo With Kids interview, the 22-year-old shared insights from her own path and provided valuable advice to young girls looking to follow her lead.

When asked for her advice to young girls dreaming of becoming race car drivers, she stated: "You must believe in your dreams. It's what motivates you daily to achieve them. So if your aspiration is to compete in the most prestigious races globally, pursue it. Have confidence in yourself, relish the journey, and dare to believe."
Pin also mentioned that if she could advise her younger self, she would emphasize the importance of "trusting" herself.
"To have faith in yourself because when you're younger, you often doubt what's feasible, but then you accomplish it and realize it was more attainable than you thought. So, always keep looking forward," she noted.
