"Dynamite" secures a crushing victory over Wardley in two rounds, retaining the heavyweight title.

British boxer Daniel Dubois, known as "Dynamite," retained his heavyweight title from the World Boxing Organization after delivering a brutal victory over fellow countryman Fabio Wardley in the second round of their bout on Saturday at the O2 Arena in London.

In the second round, Dubois continued his fierce assault, landing successive blows on his opponent until the fight was stopped after Wardley's corner threw in the towel, leading referee Steve Gray to declare Dubois the winner.
After the match, Dubois said: "Fabio is a great warrior, but it was my time and my era," emphasizing that he entered the fight determined to secure a victory from the start.
Avenged a Previous Encounter
This victory confirmed Dubois' superiority in the rematch, following their first bout in Manchester last May, which was a brutal contest that lasted until the eleventh round.
Dubois handed Wardley his first defeat in his professional career during that match, then returned to achieve a sharper victory in Saturday's encounter.
With this win, Dubois' professional record improved to 24 wins and 3 losses, while Wardley's record stands at 20 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw.
Despite the loss, Wardley praised his opponent, noting that he is used to facing the toughest boxers and is determined to recover and return to the ring.
He said: "There’s no shame in testing your abilities against the best," explaining that boxing can be decided in one or two rounds, or it can turn into a long fight as seen in their previous encounter.
A New Challenge Awaits Dubois
After retaining his title, Dubois faces a potential challenge from Croatian Filip Hrgović, IBF champion, who has expressed his willingness to risk his title for a rematch against the British boxer.
Dubois had previously lost the IBF title to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in London in July 2025, before regaining his status among heavyweight champions by winning the WBO title.
Dubois (29 years old) asserted his dominance from the opening moments of the fight, knocking down his opponent with a powerful right hand just 17 seconds into the first round, prompting the referee to begin the count on Wardley.
Although Wardley (31 years old) managed to get back on his feet, he faced a barrage of strong punches near the ropes before the bell saved him from an early defeat at the end of the first round.
