Former Marseille Star Praises Abdli
Former Olympique de Marseille player Bernard Pardo expressed his admiration for the progress made by Algerian international Hichem Abdli, noting that the midfielder is starting to take on a bigger role within the team and could become one of the key figures the club relies on to maintain balance within the group.
In statements to French outlet "La Provence," Pardo highlighted Abdli's pivotal role in Marseille's lineup, saying, "He is playing the leadership role that we have been missing."
The former player of the southern French club added that the emergence of several young players in the team makes it essential to have experienced individuals to guide them, explaining, "This is important, given the number of young players coming through, as there will be a need for leaders to direct them, and Abdli can be one of them."
This comes amid a noticeable improvement in the performance of the Algerian midfielder, who has scored three goals in the last six matches against Troyes, Angers, and Le Havre, confirming his increasing effectiveness in the attacking line.
Abdli also received applause from the fans at the Vélodrome Stadium when he was substituted in the 84th minute during the match against Le Havre, a scene that reflects the growing appreciation he enjoys from the club's supporters.
The Algerian player hopes to continue this upward trajectory in his performance in the coming period and solidify his place in the Olympique de Marseille lineup, while Bernard Pardo sees the potential for him to become one of the team's leaders.
