Futsal: The situation remains concerning ahead of the match against Morocco!

A new heavy defeat for the Algerian Futsal team in their final friendly match, less than twenty days before their opening game against Morocco for their first participation in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2026.
The national futsal team lost (1-5) to the Egyptian team on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Miloud Hadefi Sports Hall in Oran, during their second friendly match.
For reference, on Monday, the Greens had already been defeated by the same Egyptian team with a score of 3-6 at the FAF regional technical center in Tlemcen. This marks their fifth defeat in six preparation matches.
“This training camp, marked by these two friendly matches, allowed the national coach, Mr. Noureddine Benamrouche, to review his entire squad, providing playing time for his players while assessing their physical condition and performances,” the federation stated.
These two tests will also help him refine his choices for the upcoming squad that will participate in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, but the results raise concerns as Algeria will begin their match against Morocco, the three-time defending champions, on October 12 in Rabat.
Subsequently, the Algerians will face Libya, a former champion that finished fourth and third in previous editions. It is worth noting that Libya eliminated the Greens during the qualifiers for the 2024 edition of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
Algeria, making its debut in this continental competition, will finally play its third match against Zambia, who finished fourth in the 2016 edition and reached the quarter-finals in the last tournament.
