Former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner has ruled out the possibility of Christian Horner and Fred Vasseur collaborating at Ferrari.

Rumors surrounding Horner’s future have escalated following his comments to The Times, where he stated he would contemplate a leadership position with the Maranello team. Horner referred to working with Ferrari as "the dream" and suggested it is the only organization where he would consider a non-ownership role at this point in his career.

During an appearance on The Red Flags Podcast, Steiner implied that Horner is merely adjusting his approach to potentially re-enter the championship scene and joked that he might be seeking some attention for his upcoming book.

"I believe Christian is eager to return to Formula 1, and he has clearly stated that he no longer wants to work for anyone else. Clearly, plan A didn’t pan out for him, so he’s moving to plan B, and he wouldn't gain a stake in Ferrari if he took a role there," Steiner remarked. "I think he sees a chance to step in."

He further elaborated: "Additionally, there’s nothing negative for him in this situation. He’s publishing a book, so this could boost its sales, or maybe not, we can’t tell, but at the very least, it’s some publicity."

Steiner also responded to inquiries regarding the possibility of Horner and Vasseur working at Ferrari together, decisively rejecting the likelihood.

"I don’t think it’s going to be the case that Fred will remain there under Christian," he stated. "Fred is a highly accomplished individual in his own right. But first off, I’m not certain that Fred wants to leave or that he needs to leave."

"Ultimately, Fred has a contract, and how much are those worth in Formula 1? Probably not a great deal, but there isn't room for both of them. That’s my perspective on it. It's not going to happen."
