Hossain Ammouta takes decisive steps to get Al Ahly back on track.

Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta has begun taking multiple steps to get Al Ahly back on track after a decline in performance and the loss of valuable points in the Egyptian Premier League, the latest being a 3-3 draw against Al Qanah, a match that highlighted clear defensive errors and chaos on the field.

Ammouta, in collaboration with Al Ahly's management, is working to enhance discipline within the team and reevaluate player performances through decisive administrative measures and anticipated tactical changes. He is also opening the door for young talents and the club's youth players to get playing opportunities, in an effort to restore Al Ahly's identity and improve results in the upcoming period.

Stopping Players' Salaries After Losing Points

The decision to halt the salaries of Al Ahly players entirely is at the forefront of expected measures to hold accountable those who underperform, following the recent setback against Al Qanah. This move aligns with the club's management's approach to link commitment to performance and results on the field.

This step aims to send a clear message to the players about the need to take responsibility, especially since Al Ahly is competing in multiple tournaments, and the ambitions of its fans do not allow for continued point losses and repeated mistakes that have cost the team important results recently.

Additional Penalties for Some Players

The measures do not stop at halting salaries, as Al Ahly's management seeks to impose additional penalties on certain players who are responsible for the underperformance, with their names not disclosed yet.

These steps are part of the effort to enforce more discipline in the dressing room and to emphasize that playing for Al Ahly requires full commitment and adherence to tactical instructions, in addition to delivering the expected performance in matches, especially given the intense competition for starting positions.

Excluding Some Stars and Giving Opportunities to Young Talents

On the technical front, Ammouta is considering making changes to Al Ahly's lineup, which may include excluding some stars and giving opportunities to other more prepared players, as the coach aims to reevaluate performances and create real competition for starting positions.

The coaching staff is also looking to rely on several young talents, such as Mohamed Abdullah, Mahmoud Salah, Omar Sayed Mawwad, and Ahmed Khaled Kabaka, in addition to Ali Mahmoud, who joined the team this season but has not had a chance to play regularly.

The coaching staff believes these players can make a difference if given the right opportunity. Ammouta is also considering promoting some players from the youth sector, most notably Iyad Medhat, to take advantage of the available talents within the club and expand the coaching staff's options, especially given the need for new solutions to the defensive errors that emerged during the match against Al Qanah.

Ammouta Aims to Restore Al Ahly's Identity

The administrative and technical moves reflect Al Ahly's desire to quickly correct its course by combining accountability for underperformance with reorganizing the team, while giving every player capable of proving their worth in the red jersey a chance.

Ammouta hopes these measures will help restore discipline and confidence, resolve defensive issues, and improve on-field performance, enabling Al Ahly to return to winning ways and continue competing for domestic and continental titles.
