Mahmoud El Khatib, the president of Al Ahly SC, stated that honoring the men's and women's handball teams serves as a clear message to future generations of players, encouraging hard work, victories, and presence on the podiums.
El Khatib expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Hassan Moustafa, the president of the International Handball Federation, for his participation in the celebration held this evening in the presence of the board of directors. He also expressed his thanks to Khaled Fathy, the president of the Egyptian Handball Federation, for attending the event.
El Khatib Praises Achievements of Al Ahly's Men's and Women's Handball Teams
He explained that the achievements of Al Ahly's men's and women's handball teams represent pride for Egyptian sports, not just for Al Ahly SC, as they have written a new chapter in their history.
The Al Ahly president noted that the women's team achieved a significant milestone by winning the continental title after a 47-year absence, reclaiming the glory that the generation which won the first African title had achieved. He also mentioned that the men's team has a commendable history, having won the title 4 consecutive times, in addition to securing the bronze medal at the World Club Championship.
He emphasized that the responsibility increases for everyone to exert every effort and dedication to ensure the continued success in winning titles and maintaining the prestigious status that Al Ahly deserves. He directed a message that anyone wearing the Al Ahly jersey must commit to it sincerely before presenting the club's medal to both teams in recognition of this great achievement.
