The Egyptian national football team achieved its biggest victory under coach Hossam Hassan, defeating South Sudan 5-0 in a match held today, Tuesday, at Juba National Stadium, as part of the second round of qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The match, which was the 37th in Hossam Hassan's tenure with the national team, showcased an impressive attacking display from the Pharaohs, with goals scored by Mostafa Ziko, Imam Ashour, and Haitham Hassan, in addition to Omar Marmoush, who capped off the scoring in the 80th minute, ensuring the team topped their group with a perfect points tally and continued to deliver strong performances in continental competitions.
Result of the Egypt vs. South Sudan Match
The Egyptian team secured a resounding victory over their hosts South Sudan, winning 5-0 in the match that took place today, Tuesday, at Juba National Stadium in the second round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Egypt opened the scoring through Mostafa Ziko in the 35th minute, and Omar Marmoush added the second goal for the Pharaohs in the 49th minute. Ibrahim Adel scored the third goal in the 76th minute, and Marmoush netted the fourth in the 80th minute, before Hamza Abdel Karim capped off the scoring with the fifth goal in the 90+2 minute.
