Ibrahim Hassan, the manager of the Egyptian national football team, confirmed that Hamdi Fathi sustained an injury while with his club Al-Wakrah in Qatar, which will prevent him from joining the current national team camp aimed at preparing for matches against Angola and South Sudan, scheduled for September 25 and 29, as part of the first and second rounds of the African qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, in addition to a friendly match against South Africa set for October 4.
Hassan added that Fathi will not be able to join the camp due to the difficulty of participating in the three matches, joining Mahmoud Trezeguet and Yasser Ibrahim, who are also absent due to injury.
