The Permanent Delegation of Tunisia to UNESCO participated on September 30, 2026, at the Organization's headquarters in a preparatory event for the Youth Olympic Games, which will take place in Senegal from October 31 to November 13, 2026.
Chaired by UNESCO Director-General Mr. Khaled El Enany and Senegal's Minister of Youth and Sports, Ms. Djirèye Clotide Coly, the event focused on the theme “UNESCO at the heart of the Dakar 2026 YOG: what role for youth in building lasting peace?”.
The emphasis was placed on the essential role of youth in creating a future based on peace, mutual respect, and intergenerational cooperation through sport.
On this occasion, a photographic exhibition was organized to highlight prominent African Olympic athletes.
Tunisian Olympic champions throughout history were prominently featured, honoring their exceptional journeys, remarkable performances, and contributions to the development of Tunisian and African sports on the international stage.
