The Tunisian Golf Federation (FTG), founded in 1992, is set to host the best golfers in Africa for the first time in its history at Citrus Golf in Hammamet for the African Golf Championship, which will take place from October 14 to 17, 2026.
This marks a significant event for all golf enthusiasts across the African continent eager to pave a path that could lead them to the professional circuit.
This Tunisian edition will feature a record number of participants, with 19 countries taking part (Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Mauritius, Morocco, Réunion, South Africa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Tunisia).
Additionally, Tunisia will host the General Assembly of the African Golf Confederation (CAG) on Friday, October 16, in Hammamet, aimed at electing the new executive board for the 2026-2030 term.
Alongside African golf leaders, several guests, including officials from global golf organizations, will also be present.
Representing the national colors at this major event, the Tunisian team continues its preparation at Citrus Golf Hammamet. Rabeh Bedoui, Baha Boulakmine, and Aziz Dardouri are participating in daily training sessions under the guidance of national coach Hatem Nasr, while Mehdi Ben Youssef is intensively training in the United States to be ready for the big day.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee has been very active recently to ensure the best possible stay for Tunisia's guests and to make this continental sporting event a true success.
A press conference to present the event is scheduled for October 14 at Citrus Golf, just before the competitions commence.
