The decision by the new Leganés coach not to start Luca Zidane against Mallorca has raised questions about the role of the Algerian goalkeeper.
However, Luis Carrión wanted to clarify the situation, stating that this choice was primarily strategic.
“This does not mean that I do not trust Luca, quite the opposite,” said Carrión, who believes that the Algerian international goalkeeper is “one of the best in his category.”
The coach aims to create competition among his players to get the best out of them.
“Whoever steps onto the field must give everything to keep their place,” he emphasized. Therefore, the starting position of Raúl Fernández does not, according to him, represent a definitive decision against Luca Zidane.
