Starting in Borussia Dortmund's victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, Ramy Bensebaïni finished the match with intense pain in his thigh due to a heavy impact. The Algerian defender, however, continued to play to help his team maintain their lead.
Speaking to Sky, coach Niko Kovač clarified the nature of the impact: “He took a very hard knee to the thigh. It’s the kind of impact that really hurts in the moment.”
Suspended for the next DFB-Pokal match against Werder Bremen, Bensebaïni will have the opportunity to rest and recover.
“Since he is suspended for the cup, he will be able to rest a bit,” Kovač added, hoping to have him back in full form for the Bundesliga.
