The culture of motorsport extends beyond the racetrack. It encompasses the lifestyles of drivers, their fashion choices, travel experiences, design aesthetics, and the narratives that elevate racing to more than just a sport.

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton reflects that a quiet getaway to the mountains with his dogs, Roscoe and Coco, during the COVID-19 pandemic is the one day he wishes he could experience again.

In a recent social media video, the 41-year-old Ferrari driver was prompted to select a day from his past to revisit. Instead of highlighting his 106 grand prix wins and seven championships, Hamilton chose to reminisce about a five-day retreat with his bulldogs, Roscoe and Coco.

"If I could go back to one day in my life... There have been many great days, but it would likely be near the end of COVID, when I picked up Roscoe and Coco," Hamilton shared.

"I spent five days with Roscoe and Coco in the mountains, just the three of us. We walked every day, and there was one day that was exceptionally enjoyable. I wish I could relive that day."

This reflection holds special significance for the British racer, who has now lost both of his cherished bulldogs. Coco tragically passed away in June 2020, shortly after the initial lockdown measures began to lift.

Roscoe, who remained a beloved figure in the F1 paddock for many years thereafter, passed away in September 2025. Hamilton recently paid a heartfelt tribute to Roscoe on the first anniversary of his passing.

"It’s been a year since Roscoe left us," he wrote in an Instagram post. "Living without my best friend has been tough, and not a day goes by that I don’t wish he were here with me.

"I think of him and Coco every single day, and while it saddens me that they’re gone, I’m incredibly thankful for the moments I had with them and for their presence in my life.

"They were there during some of the happiest periods of my life. Today, I’m looking through these photos and videos, laughing and smiling broadly, reminiscing about those times.

"Many of you have experienced similar loss and have reached out with kindness and support. Your love means the world to me, knowing how much Roscoe was cherished. Rest in peace, my friend, I’ll love you always."
