Mohamed El Shenawy is once again among the options for the Egypt national team in the upcoming November camp.

Mohamed El Shenawy, the Al Ahly goalkeeper, has returned to the attention of the Egyptian national team’s coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan, in anticipation of upcoming training camps, as they monitor his performance and participation with his club in the coming period.

Reports suggest that El Shenawy's chances will be affected by the amount of playing time he receives, in addition to Mustafa Shobeir's continued impressive performances.

El Shenawy boasts significant international experience with the Pharaohs

El Shenawy has considerable international experience, having played 76 matches for the national team, during which he kept a clean sheet in 39 games and conceded 47 goals, according to Transfermarkt.

The goalkeeper's name was embroiled in controversy last September after Hossam Hassan's comments before the match against Angola drew criticism for suggesting El Shenawy should be excluded, describing him as "finished" at one point.

Al Ahly issued a statement rejecting those remarks, before the head coach later clarified that his comments were misunderstood, emphasizing his respect for El Shenawy and that he was referring to the goalkeeper's previous shoulder injury.

It is expected that the coaching staff's selections will determine the goalkeeper's fate based on his readiness and participation with Al Ahly, amid competition for the goalkeeper position.
