Abdullah Wazan Catches Real Madrid's Attention
Moroccan young player Abdullah Wazan has returned to the radar of Spanish club Real Madrid, thanks to his outstanding performance with Ajax Amsterdam in the early part of the season, providing the 17-year-old with new opportunities to showcase his abilities with the first team.
Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reported that the royal club is monitoring the development of the Moroccan player after a transfer to the team fell through in the summer of 2025, despite his trip to Spain to finalize the contract procedures, due to failing the medical tests, according to the same source.
Wazan has established himself as an option in Ajax's first-team lineup after being called up by coach Michel Sanchez during the preseason, continuing to impress with the squad, utilizing his dribbling skills and ability to play on the left side and move into midfield.
The Moroccan player participated in the Dutch league, scoring a goal against Heerenveen, and shone in European competitions, providing two assists in Ajax's 5-3 victory over Swiss side Sion, a match that qualified the team for the next stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League, according to the Spanish report.
Wazan's name has resurfaced prominently after his standout performance against Italian club Atalanta, where he scored a goal following an individual effort and dribbling past the opposing defenders, a moment that heightened interest in his technical skills and reignited discussions about the possibility of joining major European clubs.
On the international stage, Wazan joined the Moroccan national team under coach Mohamed Wahbi after representing the youth categories, playing his first minutes with the "Atlas Lions" against Gabon in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
