Mouloudia Opens Title Defense with Victory.. El Eulma Dominates Saoura
Mouloudia of Algiers kicked off their campaign in the professional league this season with a 2-0 victory over Mustaqbal El-Rouisat, in a match held at Ali Laboune Stadium, as part of the third round of the competition.
The team did not wait long to score, finding the net just seven minutes in through Boukhelda, before Kouhili added the second goal in the 61st minute, allowing the defending champions to collect their first three points of the season and temporarily move up to seventh place in the standings.
This was Mouloudia's first match in the league after the postponement of their first two matches against Mouloudia of Oran and JS Kabylie, due to the team's involvement in the first round of the CAF Champions League.
On the other hand, Mustaqbal El-Rouisat suffered their second defeat in three matches, having won in the second round against Olympique de Aïn M'lila, while losing in the first round to JS Kabylie, leaving them with three points in temporary tenth place.
In another match, JS El Eulma achieved a crushing victory over JS Saoura, winning 4-0, ending a streak of two consecutive defeats against Olympique de Aïn M'lila and USM Algiers.
El Eulma raised their points tally to three, temporarily occupying eleventh place. Meanwhile, JS Saoura sits at the bottom of the table with no points, having two postponed matches against US Biskra and US Khenshala, after their involvement in the first round of the CAF Champions League, before being eliminated from the continental competition.
The league has scheduled September 22 for the postponed first round matches.
The third round will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, with matches between Olympique de Aïn M'lila and USM Algiers, and CR Belouizdad against CS Constantine, before the league pauses for the international break.
Competition will resume with the fourth round matches on October 7, 8, and 9, with the fifth round scheduled for October 12, 13, and 14.
