Luciano Spalletti has a regret about his time at Napoli: not having sufficiently highlighted Adam Ounas.

In an interview with Tuttosport, the current Juventus coach spontaneously mentioned the Algerian international when asked which players he felt he had not fully developed.

When discussing players he positively impacted, Spalletti notably cited David Pizarro, Stanislav Lobotka, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Mohamed Salah, and João Cancelo.

However, when it came to naming a player he regrets not having showcased enough, his answer was unequivocal: “Adam Ounas at Napoli, without a doubt.”

Arriving at Napoli in 2017 after a promising start at Bordeaux, Ounas never managed to establish himself permanently at the Italian club. He was loaned out three times before leaving Napoli in 2022 to join Lille.

At 29, the Algerian now plays in Qatar. His technical skills are still recognized, but his career has never reached the heights expected at the start.
