FIFA has approved the establishment of a Normalization Committee to oversee the ongoing operations of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). This exceptional decision will remain in effect until May 31, 2027, at the latest, with the aim of reorganizing the governing body of Nigerian football and preparing for the upcoming elections.

This action by the global football governing authority follows a significant institutional crisis within the NFF. Last August, former president Ibrahim Gusau and several senior officials of the federation resigned, leaving the NFF in a state of administrative deadlock.

To date, the names of the individuals who will make up this Normalization Committee have not yet been revealed by FIFA. The list of members chosen to ensure this transition is expected to be communicated in the coming days.
