Badredine Bouanani played a key role in Glasgow Rangers' qualification for the Scottish League Cup final. Despite a solid performance and an individual award, the winger identified an area for improvement for the future.

Starting for Glasgow Rangers against Aberdeen on Saturday in the Scottish League Cup semi-final, Badredine Bouanani was crucial in his team's victory (1-0), securing their place in the final. Active in attack, the Algerian international made numerous attempts to destabilize the opposing defense and was rewarded with the man of the match title.

Very dynamic, the Fennec created several chances, forcing the opposing goalkeeper to intervene on one of his strikes before halftime. In the second half, he also delivered an accurate cross that Kevin Kelsy failed to convert. Despite several favorable opportunities, Bouanani was unable to score.

Ultimately, it was Ryan Naderi who delivered for the Rangers in the 83rd minute, converting a shot from James Penrice to score the only goal of the match. This victory sends the Glasgow club to the final, scheduled for December 13.

After the match, Bouanani expressed his frustration at not scoring, despite his successful performance. “I created a few chances. I need to train harder. I should have scored one or two goals today, but it's okay. I will train hard next week and hope to score in the next match,” said the Algerian winger.

The player also wanted to highlight the atmosphere in the stands at Hampden Park, which particularly impressed him. “Incredible supporters! At home, at Ibrox, it’s always special, and today was just as exceptional. I am very happy with this victory. Let’s keep moving forward,” he shared.

Finally, Bouanani emphasized the joy he feels since joining the Rangers: “Since I’ve been here, I enjoy every match. My teammates are really great. We give everything for them. I have fun in every game, and today’s match was particularly amazing.”

With just a few weeks until the final, the Algerian international is now focused on turning his chances into goals.
