Malang Sarr found himself in a peculiar situation a few weeks after arriving in Neom. The 27-year-old central defender was reportedly involved in an altercation at a luxury hotel in Marbella, following a dispute with his former advisor regarding his transfer to Saudi Arabia.
After leaving RC Lens, Sarr signed with Neom for a contract estimated at 15 million euros net of taxes. This transaction reportedly caught the interest of his former advisor, who was eager to collect a commission.
According to L’Équipe, while the player was dining with two teammates at the end of July, several compatriots burst into the hotel restaurant. Sarr was allegedly pushed and then forcibly taken to the bar. Witnesses also mentioned a slap, which the player contests.
The tension reportedly arose because Sarr had posed with another agent, appointed by Neom, during his signing. The individuals eventually left the scene after realizing that cameras had recorded the incident. The police, alerted by the club's officials, arrived after their departure.
Sarr did not file a complaint and reportedly refused to pay any compensation. The Senegalese international has since put the incident behind him to focus on his debut with his new team.
