Seydou Sissoko: The Pharaohs showed Africa's pride... and I have received offers from Egyptian clubs.
Senegalese coach Aliou Cissé emphasized the difficulty and importance of the upcoming match against Egypt tomorrow in the context of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, stressing that this match comes under different circumstances compared to previous encounters between the two teams.
The Egyptian national football team, under the guidance of head coach Hossam Hassan, is preparing to face Angola on Friday evening in the first round of the African qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The national team entered its training camp this September to kick off its continental journey, facing Angola and South Sudan in the first two rounds of the qualifiers on September 25 and 29, before meeting South Africa on October 4.
Aliou Cissé's Statements
Cissé explained during the pre-match press conference that facing the Pharaohs at this time is completely different from the past, noting that the Angolan team now has a group of strong players, along with a balanced mix of youth and experience capable of delivering a strong performance.
The coach pointed out his commitment to utilizing all the team's capabilities to prepare for this match, saying: "It is natural for me to talk to the players who play in the Egyptian league to benefit from their extensive experience in Egyptian football and the nature of the opponent."
Cissé expressed his admiration for the levels displayed by the Egyptian national team over the past eight months, confirming that they reflect the pride of the entire African continent. He added: "I take this opportunity to congratulate the coaching staff of the Egyptian national team, led by Captain Hossam Hassan, on their recent achievements; from reaching the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations and eliminating the defending champion Ivory Coast, to advancing to the furthest point in the World Cup and challenging the Argentina team, which are all highly commendable results."
Regarding his coaching future and recent offers, Cissé revealed that he has received several offers to coach clubs in Egypt, saying: "I was talking to player Mabululu while we were coming to the conference; indeed, I have received offers from some Egyptian clubs to coach them recently, but I preferred to continue in the field of national team coaching for the time being."
