Islam Slimani has approached the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to recover amounts he claims are owed by CR Belouizdad. The Lausanne institution has registered the request and scheduled a hearing for October 15, according to several Algerian media outlets. The arbitrators will listen to both parties before making their decision.

The all-time top scorer for the Greens asserts that he never received the full amount of his salary arrears during his time at the red and white club. In the absence of an amicable agreement, the striker has taken the matter to the competent authority in Switzerland.

On the side of Laâquiba club, the position remains unchanged. The management maintains its defense strategy and intends to protect the interests of Chabab during the hearing. No official statement has been issued so far to present the club's version. The exact amount claimed has not been disclosed, but the sums mentioned total several billion centimes.

The session scheduled for mid-October will represent a decisive moment in this conflict. The juries will listen to the parties involved in the dispute, examine the contractual documents, and then render their verdict.

The consequences of this decision extend beyond the striker's personal case. An unfavorable ruling for CR Belouizdad could further weaken its finances, especially since the club is struggling to lift the recruitment ban imposed by FIFA due to unpaid debts to former coach Saed Ramovic.

This case is not the first for CAS in national football. The Swiss institution had already played a central role in the summer saga concerning Youcef Belaïli, whose signing with Mouloudia was contingent on Lausanne's decision. Algerian clubs are gradually becoming aware of the stakes involved in imprecise contractual management.

Moreover, Slimani's sporting situation adds an additional dimension to this conflict. Without a club since the Romanian club terminated their contract last April, the forward is still searching for a project that matches his career. His time in Transylvania, with only two goals in sixteen matches, will remain a missed opportunity.

Several destinations have been mentioned but never materialized. Qatar, then Morocco, where the management of IR Tanger rejected any approach, calling the rumors unfounded. The player, for his part, refuses to sign out of despair and insists that he is waiting for a challenge worthy of his status.
