The competition to host the final of the 2030 World Cup continues, with the Spanish city of Barcelona entering the race, while Morocco remains determined to organize the final at the Grand Stadium of Hassan II in Benslimane, which hopes to become one of the world's premier sports facilities.

The bid for the stadium that will host the 2030 World Cup final has resurfaced after Rafael Lozano, president of the Spanish Football Federation, expressed his support for holding the final at the Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona. This has sparked debate in Spain, especially following previous confirmations about hosting the match at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Lozano made his statement during the opening ceremony of the "Kings of the World" exhibition held in Barcelona on Monday, celebrating the arrival of the World Cup trophy won by the Spanish national team in the city.

According to the Catalan website "El Nacional," Barcelona's mayor, Jaume Collboni, expressed a serious desire to host the World Cup final at Camp Nou, noting that he has conveyed this ambition to Rafael Lozano, the president of the Spanish Federation, and Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona.

Collboni stated that his city looks forward to hosting the global cup at its stadium during the final, with the Spanish team captain lifting it in front of the fans, considering that Barcelona has the qualities that make it a strong candidate to host this event.

Among the most notable comments from Spanish officials is the stance of the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Lozano, who confirmed his country's readiness to host major events and expressed clear support for holding the final in Barcelona.

The Spanish Federation president said, "We hope this cup will be here at Camp Nou in 2030; there is a possibility for that," referring to the Spotify Camp Nou.

He added that coordination is ongoing with FC Barcelona, local authorities, and the Spanish Federation to ensure the success of upcoming sporting events, noting that the stadium will be one of the best in Europe after the completion of its renovation works.

These statements come amid increasing Spanish efforts to defend the chances of its stadiums, particularly the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, to host the World Cup final.

Meanwhile, Morocco remains a key player in this race, thanks to the Grand Stadium of Hassan II in Benslimane, near Casablanca, which the kingdom hopes will be the site for the 2030 World Cup final.

The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, previously stated that Benslimane will have the honor of hosting the World Cup final, referring to the Grand Stadium of Hassan II, which is one of the most prominent sports projects linked to preparations for this global event.

The Moroccan ambition relies on a stadium project with a capacity of up to 115,000 spectators, making it, according to announced data, a candidate to be the largest football stadium in the world.

Lekjaa's statements carry special significance as they reflect Morocco's bet on investing in new sports infrastructure to enhance the kingdom's position in organizing the biggest match of the tournament, rather than merely hosting a number of matches in the competition.

Despite the numerous statements and political and sports maneuvers, the decision to host the final has not yet been officially determined; the decision remains in the hands of FIFA, which has not yet announced the stadium that will host the final match.
