"Amateur Championships" to Start in October
The National Amateur Football League has decided to extend the player registration period for amateur clubs and postpone the start of national competitions for the 2026-2027 sports season, in response to a request from several clubs.
The league stated in a statement that this decision aims to give the concerned clubs an additional opportunity to settle their affairs and complete their contracts, allowing them to enter official competitions under better conditions.
The league announced that the player registration period for amateur clubs has been extended until September 28, with the start of amateur football championships in various divisions postponed by one week.
According to the new decision, the competitions for the amateur divisions will begin on October 10 and 11, instead of the previously scheduled date of the fourth of the same month.
The National Amateur Football League urged all clubs under its umbrella to take advantage of this additional grace period and take the necessary measures to ensure their readiness before the start of the official competitions for the new sports season.
