The main rounds of the 2026-2027 Egypt Open Squash Championship kick off today, Saturday, in Cairo, running from October 10 to 16. The tournament features some of the top squash players from around the world, making it one of the most important events on the Professional Squash Association's calendar.
Egypt Open Squash Championship - Diamond Level
The championship is classified as a diamond event, the highest level of tournaments in the Professional Squash Association, with total prize money reported at $366,000 for both men's and women's competitions.
The Pyramids Host the Finals of the Egypt Open
The initial rounds of the tournament will take place in 6th of October City, with the competition moving to the Giza Pyramids area starting from the quarter-finals. Matches will be held on a glass court in a unique atmosphere that combines sport with one of Egypt's most iconic landmarks.
Egyptian Squash Stars Participate in the Championship
The tournament sees extensive participation from Egyptian squash stars, led by Mostafa Asal, the world number one in men's squash, and Amina Orfi, along with a selection of top Egyptian and international players, in a highly anticipated battle for the championship title.
