Women’s National Team Scores Eight Goals Against Central African Republic, Closing in on Olympic Dream
The Women’s National Team achieved a significant victory over the Central African Republic, winning by a score of eight goals to nil in a match held this Friday evening at the 5 July Olympic Stadium, as part of the first leg of the second round of the African qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
The women’s team took an important step towards securing qualification for the third round, ahead of the return leg scheduled for Tuesday at the 5 July Olympic Stadium.
Despite this overwhelming victory, the national team has not yet secured a spot in the Olympics, as they must navigate through several more elimination rounds, given that the African continent is allocated only two spots for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
The return match will be an opportunity for the women’s team to confirm their superiority and ensure progression to the next stage, continuing their pursuit of the dream of participating in the Olympic Games.
