National Wrestling Team Begins Training Camp in Kazakhstan
The national wrestling team for seniors departed today from Houari Boumediene Airport heading to the Kazakh capital, Astana, to enter a training camp that will last from October 10 to 23, in preparation for the World Championship scheduled to take place from October 24 to November 1, 2026.
This camp will be held at the International Wrestling Academy under the Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation at the Sports University in Astana, as part of the preparatory program established by the coaching staff, aimed at enhancing the physical and technical readiness of the wrestlers before entering the global competition.
The Algerian delegation consists of wrestlers in all three disciplines, with the Greco-Roman team represented by Abdel Karim Ferqat, Abdel Jabbar Jabari, Faisal Ben Faraj, Chawki Dolash, Bashir Sid Azara, and Fadi Rouabeh, under the supervision of coach Maazouz Ben Jedda.
Meanwhile, the freestyle wrestling team includes Moaz Chibani, Osama Laaribi, Abdel Kader Akal, and Fath Ben Faraj Allah, led by coach Mohamed Bouderra, while Ibtissam Doudou, Chaima Chbila, and Ashwaq Jamila represent the women's wrestling team under the guidance of coach Mustafa Ben Chaaban.
The national team relies on this camp to achieve the highest levels of readiness before the global event and aims to deliver a performance that reflects the reputation of Algerian wrestling on the international stage.
