The Moroccan national futsal team secured a significant victory over their Algerian counterparts, winning 4-0 in a match held this evening at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, as part of the first round of the group stage in the CAF Africa Futsal Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026".

The "Atlas Lions" dominated the first half with constant pressure on the Algerian goal, which opted for a defensive strategy. This led to an opening goal by Younes Makarssi, followed by a second goal from Youssef Jawad, ending the first half with Morocco in the lead.

The Moroccan superiority continued into the second half, as the national players maintained their pressure and control over the match. Youssef Jawad scored the third and fourth goals, achieving a personal hat-trick and leading the national team to a well-deserved victory at the start of their continental campaign.

With this win, Morocco tops Group A with three points, ahead of Zambia on goal difference, after the latter also defeated Libya 3-1 earlier today, while Libya and Algeria sit in third and fourth places respectively with no points.

The national team will play their second group match against Zambia on Wednesday, October 14, and will conclude this round with a match against the Libyan team on Friday, October 16, as they aim to continue defending their continental title.
