The national team rises to 28th in the world in the FIFA rankings.

The Algerian national team has climbed one spot in the FIFA World Rankings for October, now sitting at 28th globally with a total of 1574.77 points, according to the latest ranking released today by FIFA.
The "Greens" were previously ranked 29th in the last official ranking with 1572.99 points.
This progress is a result of the performance the "Greens" delivered during the recent international break, where they played three matches, starting with a 3-1 victory over Zambia in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. They then drew 2-2 with Burundi away from home and concluded the break with a 2-1 friendly win against Niger.
This performance allowed the national team to gain additional points in the rankings, raising their total to 1574.77 points, which helps strengthen their position on the global stage.
On the continental level, the Algerian team ranks fourth in Africa behind Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt, while they are third among Arab teams, confirming their status among the leading teams in both the African and Arab regions.
This ranking comes at a time when national coach Ibrahim Hamadani is looking to form a new team, having given opportunities to several players during the recent break, as he awaits the outcomes of upcoming competitions and the international break in November.
