The Sudanese club Al Merrikh Bentiu has rejected a proposal to change the kickoff time for their match against Pyramids in the CAF Champions League.
The match observer, in collaboration with the refereeing team and both clubs, had decided to move the kickoff time forward by fifteen minutes to start at 4:15 PM instead of 4:30 PM.
This decision was made due to the rain that hit Juba, as well as the early onset of darkness in the city and the lack of lighting at Juba International Stadium, which necessitated the adjustment of the time.
However, after the official agreement, Al Merrikh officials reversed their decision and insisted on the original time set by CAF, so the match will kick off at 4:30 PM as initially planned.
Pyramids will host Al Merrikh Bentiu, the South Sudanese champions, at 4:15 PM today at Juba International Stadium in the first leg of the Round of 32 of the Champions League.
