Transfer Market: Ghedjemis, a surprising turning point
While his candidacy was hotly debated in the corridors of the European market this summer, Farès Ghedjemis may ultimately continue his journey with Frosinone. The Italian club is currently negotiating an extension of the contract for the Algerian forward, who is already under contract until June 2028.
According to the latest news reported by transfer specialist journalist Nicolo Schira, talks between the two parties are progressing positively and an agreement is now imminent. This trend is also confirmed by Tuttosport, which mentions the possibility of a new contract extending until 2030 or 2031.
This extension should also include an improvement in the player's salary conditions. Through this initiative, Frosinone aims to secure the situation of one of its key players and further distance itself from clubs likely to make a move.
This intention comes as the Italian club embarks on a new phase of its project following its return to Serie A and the entry of an American investment group that has become the majority shareholder. Ghedjemis could thus fit into this new medium- to long-term dynamic.
This development is particularly significant as the name of the Algerian forward had been frequently linked to several European clubs during the last transfer window. Monaco had notably shown interest in his situation, while Besiktas, Celtic, and the Glasgow Rangers had also closely monitored the situation. Despite these various avenues, no transaction was ultimately concluded, particularly due to Frosinone's financial demands.
At 24 years old, Ghedjemis could see his future take a new direction. While several opportunities seemed to arise this summer, the Algerian forward is now heading towards an extension that could allow him to continue his development in Italy and become one of the essential players in Frosinone's new project.
