Although he was highly sought after during the last summer transfer window, Fares Ghedjemis ultimately decided to continue his journey with Frosinone. Before facing Sassuolo, the Algerian international shared his thoughts on his decision, while discussing his development and coach Massimiliano Alvini.

Last summer, Fares Ghedjemis caught the attention of several teams, including Celtic Glasgow, Rangers, Besiktas, and Monaco, who were eager to sign the player. Despite significant approaches and offers reaching up to nine million pounds, the Algerian winger ultimately decided to stay with Frosinone, with whom he recently extended his contract until 2030.

At a press conference before the match against Sassuolo, scheduled for Friday for the seventh round of the Italian league, the 24-year-old footballer explained the motivations behind his choice, expressing his satisfaction in continuing to support the club's project.

“The summer transfer window is closed. I had my own ambitions, but I had discussions with the club, which presented its new project and desire to become a big club. I am happy to have stayed and renewed my contract. Now, I want to give my best,” he stated.

The former Rouen player also discussed his evolution since arriving in Italy, highlighting the demands of the league and his own progression over the seasons.

“I arrived three years ago as a young player from the French National. Today, I feel more mature. The intensity is much higher: you have to make wise choices and the margin for error is reduced. I appreciate this style of play,” he emphasized.

Ghedjemis also wanted to praise the work of his coach, Massimiliano Alvini, whom he considers a key figure in his development.

“Alvini is an excellent coach. He wants the best for all the players and strives to help them progress. His winning mentality, along with the affection he shows to each player, touches me a lot,” he affirmed.

Looking ahead to the future of the season, the Algerian international hopes to leverage this stability to establish himself in the long term and contribute to Frosinone's ambitions, which currently sits in ninth place in Serie A.
