Transfer Market: PSG, how Maza's profile could interest Luis Enrique

While his name is often mentioned in discussions about Paris, young Algerian international Ibrahim Maza could meet several expectations of the Parisian project. Beyond the expressed interest, it is mainly his potential use that deserves examination.

The name of Ibrahim Maza is increasingly present in news regarding Paris Saint-Germain. According to information recently shared by expert Brahim Hanifi, the Parisian club is closely monitoring the attacking midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen. Although this rumor still requires confirmation, it raises a fascinating question: what position could the Algerian international occupy in Luis Enrique's setup?

At just 20 years old, Maza has several assets that could appeal to the Spanish coach. Technical, agile, and capable of operating between the lines, the player trained at Hertha Berlin stands out for his quick turns, ability to dribble in tight spaces, and generate openings in offensive zones. His versatility also allows him to occupy various positions in the attacking line.

A profile to enhance Parisian creativity

Although PSG already has a well-stocked midfield, with Dro Fernandez, Vitinha, João Neves, Warren Zaïre-Emery, and Fabián Ruiz, Maza's potential arrival would provide an additional option in a more offensive role that is already at a very high level. The Algerian could notably play as a support for the striker, in a number 10 role, to contribute to the build-up play and increase presence between the lines.

The current situation in Paris could also reinforce this consideration. The serious knee injury of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, announced on October 21, is a significant blow for Luis Enrique. However, Maza is not a natural left winger: his potential arrival would respond more to a need for creativity in the center than to a direct replacement for the Georgian.

Indeed, a repositioning of Dro Fernandez to the left wing could reduce competition for the attacking midfielder position. Maza could therefore find himself in direct competition with Fabián Ruiz, hoping to become, in the medium term, the successor to the 30-year-old Spanish midfielder.

With a contract until 2030, the Fennec represents a significant investment for the German club. A potential transfer would therefore depend as much on PSG's genuine interest as on Leverkusen's willingness to part with one of its most promising young talents.
