Canada leads 2-0 against France at halftime. The two teams are competing in the Round of 16 of the U20 Women's World Cup. The French team will need to show more energy to turn the tide against the Canadian side.

Canada quickly took control of the match. After a slightly hesitant start, the North Americans imposed their rhythm. In the 28th minute, Kaylee Hunter opened the scoring. She followed up with a second goal in the 33rd minute, thanks to a pass from Janet Okeke on a corner taken by Jeneva Hernandez Gray. Video assistance was even called upon to validate the goal.

Under pressure to respond, the French team tried to wake up during the last five minutes of the first half. Ornella Graziani and Justine Rouquet saw their efforts go wide of the goal. In the second half, France will need to increase its offensive efficiency to hope to overcome a very determined Canada.
